I tasked ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Bing AI Chat with picking parts for a $1,200 gaming and streaming PC build. Is AI better than me at creating PC parts lists? Let’s find out!
ChatGPT PC build: 5600X, 3060
Analysis: Taking into consideration that all three of these AI tools are not perfectly up to date when it comes to specific subjects, ChatGPT's build is decent. However, building a new AM4 system does not make sense in late 2023, and they could have budgeted for a better GPU by saving money on the motherboard and storage, and by using AMD's stock CPU cooler.

Google Bard's PC build: 5500, 6700 XT
Analysis: For a streaming PC, a 5500 will not be an adequate CPU choice for many people. It would have made more sense to go with a better CPU and keeping the same GPU by saving money on the storage, case, and power supply. Also, no new PC build should be using DDR4.
Rating: 1/10 (because the initial build went $400 over budget; the new build would be a 7/10 for offering a worse CPU and a better GPU)
Bing AI Chat's PC build: 3700X, 2060 Super
Analysis: For a chatbot that supposedly scrapes the internet for newer data, these parts are shockingly old to buy new in 2023. The CPU choice would have been fine for streaming a few years ago, and the GPU would have been adequate as well, but 250GB of storage is inadequate and the standard H510 is not a good case.
Rating: 5/10 (you would be better off buying these parts used, and they still wouldn't be the best options)
My PC build: 13600KF, 4070
Why I chose these parts: With 14 cores and 20 threads, the 13600KF will perform phenomenally for streaming, and the 4070 will offer DLSS 3.0 support and NVIDIA's NVENC encoder. The 1TB NVMe PCI-e 4.0 SSD will provide great bang-for-the-buck performance, and this great performance is made possible by the cheaper motherboard, case, and power supply. Additionally, the 32GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 memory will drastically outperform any RAM configuration suggested by the AI chatbots.
